at a glance
Stormshield, the leading French publisher and a reference European player in cybersecurity, is a subsidiary of Airbus Defence and Space Cyber Programmes and offers innovative, certified and European‑level qualified security products for protecting networks and data. To continue our growth, we are looking for an Embedded C Developer.
You will work at the heart of our firewalls: product evolution, maintenance, robustness and diagnostics. The role involves taking ownership of a large, critical code base and requires strong analytical skills to understand and solve system‑ and network‑related problems.
Essential requirements:
Solid experience in C on Linux and/or FreeBSD.
Proven low‑level development experience: system, performance, debugging, investigation.
Ability to understand and evolve complex, mission‑critical code.
Comfortable analysing complex failures (traces, logs, profiling, reproduction).
Good networking knowledge and understanding of associated mechanisms.
What are the responsibilities of the Embedded C Developer?
Maintain and evolve the SNS product line (bug fixes, continuous improvement, quality/robustness);
Take charge of Level‑3 support (diagnostics): analysis, reproduction, root‑cause identification, and proposal of fixes (without handling first‑line customer support);
Maintain and evolve internal technical tools (build tooling, debugging, validation, etc.);
Participate in integration of new hardware: compatibility checks, adaptations, validation.
What is the technical environment?
Technical stack: C, C++, FreeBSD.
Ecosystem: Unix.
Virtualised environments: VMware.
Which team?
You will be integrated into one of the SNS teams managed by Emmanuel. Each team is made up of about twenty people (developers, testers, tech‑leaders, scrum master, product owner). You will join a Scrum Team of 5‑7 people (Scrum/Kanban). Teamwork is at the core of the way we operate: development is collaborative, teams are self‑managed and own their delivery commitments.

Which product?
You will work on Stormshield firewalls, which make up the Stormshield Network Security (SNS) portfolio. By securing the network, an enterprise firewall protects the company from most cyber‑attacks. For more information, visit the dedicated page about the Stormshield firewalls.
